Bit of a late post, considering the PSN updated yesterday, but better late then never! This week fighting game fans have nothing to be upset about, unless you’re into Street Fighter…or Guilty Gear…or BlazBlue…or Sonic the Fighters. Starting off Dead or Alive 5+ released on tuesday, bringing the full Dead or Alive 5 experience to the Vita along with some extra features. The game features a far more in depth training mode, teaching players everything from the basics to the combat system specifics, as well as a touch screen combat mode. Dead or Alive 5+ even comes in two different bundles, one for $69.99 where you get both the Vita and PS3 versions (which are cross play enabled) and another for $49.99 where you get Dead or Alive Paradise with the new game. All DLC for Dead or Alive 5 works on both systems, so if you own it on PS3 and have all the DLC, no need to repurchase. The base game alone will run you $39.99.

Also released yesterday were the new characters for Sony AllStars Battle Royale. In case you missed our first post, the new characters are Isaac Clark from the Dead Space franchise and the mighty greek god Zeus. Accompanying them is a new stage that mashes together Sir Daniel’s MediEvil and indie game The Unfinished Swan. If you picked up God of War Ascension last week, you should have gotten a voucher to download these characters for free, if not, you can pick up each character for $4.99 each and the stage for $1.99, or all three for $9.99. While my opinion of the game might be low, I strangely find myself compelled to get each character, you know, in case someone wants to really know how bad it is, that way they get ALL of the bad instead of just the base bad.

Dead or Alive and Sony Smash not your cup of tea? Wondering what the PSN has to offer for your PlaystationPlus Instant Game Collection? Well look no further! This week PS+ members get Double Fine’s latest adventure game The Cave and Tekken 6 for the PSP for free, and yes, Tekken 6 is compatible on the Vita. The Cave is a wacky adventure game in which you control three characters at a time as they work together to traverse a cave, with the entire game being narrated by said cave. You’ll also get access to the beta for Defiance, an online, open world shooter where you can create your own character and play either alone or with friends in your global search for alien technology. Defiance has some sort of tie in with an upcoming SyFy show by the same name, which will apparently give you the chance to affect not only what happens in the game world, but also what happens on the show.
