Apparently Final Fantasy versus XIII is still not coming.

Yup you heard it right. Well not entirely right, apparently from anonymous sources Final Fantasy versus XIII might have been cancelled. A quick recap on those of you who don’t know of FFvsXIII, it was supposed to be released side by side with Final Fantasy XIII and another portable game which turned into Final Fantasy Type-0 for the PSP. Recent rumors have said that Square Enix changed the title and all other of its resources to Final Fantasy XV. Reason for the cancellation hasn’t been stated but it looks like the company is going for a quiet cancellation in order to not effect stocks and other business-y transactions that might effect the company in the long run. Despite them being rumors, one can’t really help but think of these as true to due Square’s track record in the past few years. On a side note on September 1 they will be having a “Final Fantasy Lightning Saga: Development Presentation” which pretty much means they there might be an update on Final Fantasy XIII-3. Yes bear with me people they’re pushing this into a third act. With all that said and done, makes you wonder about Kingdom Hearts 3 future since apparently the main team of the Kingdom Hearts franchise was on development for FFvsXIII. Come on Square, just give us what we want: a Chocobo Racing remake!

  1. Cancelled?! My heart has been crushed.

A third part for ff13 might be interesting. I think XIII-2 is better than the original although I have to add in the disclaimer that I haven’t finished either.
